Thank you @samuielephantsanctuary for your incredible work in saving/protecting/loving these enormous, gentle spirits. Such a life changing experience that I struggle to find the words. The connection and love between the wonderful staff/carers at this ethical and respectful sanctuary is undeniable. .

We laughed and laughed together and met some awesome people to share the journey with. .

Horrifying to hear the awful history/present of so many elephants tortured by the tourist attractions (despite the “we’re humane here” protests... 😢) and to be reminded that the main predator of these beautiful giants in the wild... IS HUMANS. They say “elephants never forget” well, I hope these and so many others learn to and just live the rest of their lives with happy and loving memories instead of painful ones. And, as reiterated time and time again, I hope we can all always remember that the only way to change the abuse of these sensitive and stunningly intelligent souls is to change the way tourists/humans think of/interact with them.
