We have some big news about a few tiny babies here at Taronga!

Six Indian Star Tortoises have hatched so far this season, and weighing in at just 18g, they’re no bigger than a fifty cent piece. These gorgeous little creatures slowly grow to be about the size of an AFL ball, but it’s not all smooth sailing for them. In the wild, Indian Star Tortoises are considered as vulnerable as a result of poaching to supply the illegal pet trade.
