This bag is filled with every product (118 to be exact) I used up in 2018! ? You can see it all + my thoughts in the new video I just posted. Link in my profile. Also, I just have to say, after 3 years of doing annual empties videos, it feels SO good to finish the vast majority of products I use. I’ve learned a lot about my habits, the brands I continuously reach for, and what the long term experience is like with certain products. There’s so much pressure to try and buy the newest, “best” thing. We also get bored. That can lead to numerous partially used products in pursuit of what’s “better” and never being satisfied. I’ve definitely been there. For so many of us, this is about experimentation and self exploration. It’s a constant unfolding. It’s fun and novel at the beginning, mundane and routine in the middle and surprisingly fulfilling at the end. If something is working, feels good (physically, mentally, emotionally) and isn’t causing irritation or an adverse reaction, stick with it. I’ve noticed that when I commit to finishing products, it often permeates other areas of my life. I feel accomplished and more willing to commit to bigger things. I feel more mindful of my consumption. I know what I want to spend on and what I don’t. I feel like I’ve taken care of myself and know what I want and need. I become curious about why I use a product. I’m more in touch with my fears and insecurities so my actions are less likely to be fueled by them. Your journey with beauty is about more than the products in your bathroom. What is your internal dialogue when you look in the mirror? Could you be more gentle with yourself? If you woke up tomorrow and liked everything about yourself, what would you keep using? What wouldn’t have a place anymore? Why? It’s an evolving process and it’s your space to occupy. Step into it and see what happens. ❤️
