Beginning of this month I went to the most northern part of Finland ?? in hope to see magical aurora borealis. ?
And I did, thanks to our amazing tour guide. HOWEVER!!! It wasn’t as magical as it looks in the pictures! ?
Let me explain why:
All the aurora I have seen, actually looks a little bit like a glooming white cloud ☁️ to the naked eye. ??
The camera however picks up the green (or other colour) light particles very well in long exposure - SO IT LOOKS GREAT ON PICTURES! ???‍♀️?
I’m sure if you’re super lucky you might get a rare super strong one which actually dances and has more colour but I feel this whole aurora thing is hyped and falsely advertised a little.. No regrets here! I had a lovely time in Lapland (Ivalo) and I’m happy I saw something but I just want the world to know it probably is not THAT great as in photographs ???‍♀️ Have you seen aurora yet or are you planning to?
