@luomovogue ’s new issue ➡️ ‘INFINITE VISIONS’ Edited by @lucykumaramoore - If you’re looking to forecast the future of visual imagery and mood in fashion, then who better to ask than five trailblazing photographers whose aesthetics are contributing to the wider reshaping of the business? Here we survey the opinions of just such an exceptional portfolio - the talents of their generation. Each individual has an utterly distinct point of view that contributes to the richness of the wider conversation: it would be inappropriate to suggest that one type of aesthetic is more important or dominant than another. And yet recently, amidst the competing jostle of irony, realism and pastiche in image-making, a glimmer of consensus has emerged that might just cast a fresh light on elegance. What might this quality be, in the 21st century? This week’s photographer is Harley Weir @harleyweir - ‘Wrestler, Senegal, 2015.’ - This unseen photograph by Weir was taken in Dakar, Senegal, after making the film ‘The Wrestlers of the Pink Lake’ in 2015. The wrestler pictured is wearing a necklace from Wales Bonner’s Ebonics collection. Wales Bonner is interested in the ways in which refinement or beauty can be expressed through movement, sound and ritual, and how these qualities relate to ideas of masculinity in a hybridised cultural space.’ Keep reading the text about #HarleyWeir in our new issue. #NewElegance
