Dr. King’s powerful words and vision for a future free of racial injustice are now more relevant and important than ever. Today as we reflect let us use his inspiration as fuel for our daily actions and where we put our money. Stay focused and charge on. #mlkday Art @odddaughterco REPOST by @odddaughterco: I have absolutely been guilty of posting a Dr. King quote and then moving on with my day (if you scroll far enough in my feed, I’m sure you can find evidence). But we can and must DO BETTER. . . On a day set aside to honor a man who spoke out against injustice and preached about racial equality, here are some things that white people can do: . . 1. Take a look at who you follow on social media. Do they all look like you? Go follow BIPOC (Black, indigenous and people of color). Otherwise you’re just reinforcing the white narrative all. day. long. . . 2. Listen to important voices who are speaking out against white privilege and white supremacy (and don’t forget that MLK said the white moderate - who cares more about order than justice- was the biggest threat to freedom).
