A few months ago I asked you about traveling with a dog. I was about to leave for a pretty long time and didn’t want to leave Lulu for so long. . It was also a bit selfish. I just love to be with her. . So, first, the good news is we did it!!! . I have a lot of practical things I am going to share (gaaaaaah I know I have been promising this for days)(this is a way to force myself to do it today) (EDiT - it’s uP I Hope it helps!) in my stories - and also my overall point of view - like, I knew I never wanted a backyard dog - but is it really a good idea to do that? . What I know is, being single and traveling with a dog means you spend about 100% of your time together. And that is life changing. Our bond took its full expression. The companionship, the protection a dog offers and that you offer them, the incredible understanding between us, like one look and I know what she wants - it deepened tremendously, and I feel like now she’s fully a part of me. . To me, she’s an immediate connection with nature, the wild and universal understanding. I can be in the middle of a noisy city and a look at her or a touch and I am connected with the good, simple, the beautiful, the graceful. . In airports and everywhere, people stop me to pet her. I believe that more than being just excited to see a cute pup, what they are drawn to is the immense stress relief of that connection. . SO, thank you for all your advice and to all of you who asked me about traveling with her I am gonna do my best to do this today (so much to say!). . And thank you to all the hotels, restaurants, cab drivers, flight attendants, shops, friends, family, and so on who let her hang out with me. This is the Public Hotel in New York, a place where I really like to stay and that is small dog friendly. . Vive les chiens!
