Be like the fox, who makes more tracks than necessary, some in the wrong direction. I adore that thought from Wendell Berry, his Southernness makes me homesick for the places that made me.

But what is more American than embracing the right to roam? I want to feel all the places that aren’t famous in our beautiful country. Our public lands are precious and I hope the generation that embraced Instagram has seen them and felt the joy in their body of exploring land that isn’t private and closed off with barbed wire and locked gates.
