Last night I was with some friends and we were talking about the amazing songs from the 70’s that we’re deeply deeply morbid.. like ‘wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald’ and ‘don’t fear the reaper’ and ‘billy don’t be a hero’ and ‘Suicide is painless’, etc. and that these morbid songs were HITS. So, help me out, what morbid songs from the 60’s and 70’s am I missing? I nominate ‘green green grass of home’ by Tom jones as arguably the most morbid of the bunch...just wait until it gets to 1:59 and you’ll see.
