Skateboarding was featured in the closing ceremonies of 1996 Summer Olympics. We rehearsed a complicated routine on this ramp labyrinth for days leading up to it, giving the production crew plenty of time to see when & where the tricks would happen, but the live broadcast didn’t do it justice. At least Mike Frazier showed the world a proper Smithvert, and Bob Costas broke down his skating roots. The outfits, the skating and the music were most extreme.
