I am a product of the Los Angeles Unified School District. More specifically, the individual educators whose lives crossed paths with mine and in many instances changed it for the better. Mrs. Rodriguez, Mr. Protho, Mr. Aguilera, Mr. Johnson, Ms. Freitag, just to name a few. To this day I remember the moments in which a teacher inspired me, changed my world view, helped me realize I was smart, talented and deserving- made me feel seen. Public school students deserve phenomenal educators, and educators deserve respect and support commensurate with the foundational role they play in society.
