I just want to address some comments about the yahoo article. •
• • “Let the go fund me scam begin” : I completely understand that its human nature to be skeptical, but I would like everyone to know that we do not have a go fund me page, nor do we plan to. We raised and donated thousands of dollars last year and will do the same again this year. Rest assured that we are more interested in giving than receiving. •
• “You just want attention” : The A-word you’re looking for is awareness, not attention. We use our social media platform and will use this yahoo article to promote the importance of the wonder speaker program and the volunteering/fundraising work that we do. •
• “If you weren’t on social media, you wouldn’t have to deal with cyber bullies” : Yes, I understand that it is my choice to expose myself to cyber bullies. However, every other parent proudly posts pictures of their beautiful babies without fear of being threatened... Why should I be any different? Why should I have to hide? It is not in my character to run from problems. We are fighting for a world that is more accepting of differences. By hiding, we are encouraging the problem to continue. I refuse to back down and I will continue to educate and advocate for children with special needs in an attempt to make a kinder environment for my son. ❤️?❤️? - Mama T-Rex
