LIFE legend Albert Schweitzer was born 144 years ago today on January 14, 1875 in Germany. In 1952 he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and is perhaps best known for founding the Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Lambarene, now Gabon. This iconic image of Schweitzer by W.
