There have been countless things over the last few hundred years that have been horrifying but legal: slavery, child labor, male only voting, segregation, institutional racism, smoking on airplanes, etc. Currently our laws state that it’s illegal to kill a dog, but legal to kill a cow. It’s illegal to torture a cat, but legal to torture a pig. It’s illegal to throw a puppy in a dumpster, but legal to throw baby chicks in a dumpster. Future generations(assuming there are any)will ask: ‘you knew it was wrong and horrifying, but you supported it anyway?’ If we know it’s wrong we SIMPLY SHOULD NOT SUPPORT IT. #animalrights
