Like a living and breathing monster, this #timeLapse illustrates the shear power of a #mesocyclone. These powerful storms twist and turn, forcefully sucking up dirt and raining down hail, water and lightning in their relentless path. Meso’s are at the core of a #supercell, a whirling vortex that often drop tornados when they’re in a wound up state such as this. This particular storm went on to later produce a small tornado, small being a relative term as it was still powerful enough to take out power lines and damage a nearby facility.
