True story: yesterday our driver had to take a short-cut detour to get us to the globes and guess what street he decided to drive through? The first street I ever lived on when I moved to L.A! I actually got teary because I haven’t driven passed it in years and God reminded me how far I’ve come and how far I have yet to go! That good old apartment tho ya’ll ? The place where I shed so many homesick tears and experienced so many setbacks and doors slamming in my face. The place where I also decided to own it and figure out a way to pave my own career path & build my own door! 6 years later (and so many all nighters later lol) here I am all dressed up for the Golden Globes having my little moment with @L'Oréal Paris Hair Official Elvive fam ??♀️ Here to tell you sister that I’m so happy I chose the risky path for my life instead of the safe path. That I never gave up. That I never quit or waited around. Life is about taking risks and going after what sets your heart on fire while understanding there are no short cuts (or quick detours ?) to success. Take it from me when I say success doesn’t happen overnight but YES you can achieve it if you’re willing to fight/work hard for it. I wish someone told me that on those hard days when I felt defeated. If you were looking for a sign today - there it is.
