Story time- back in 2014 little ole Brooke’s biggest dream and greatest heart’s desire was to see Newsies on Broadway. My family surprised me at Christmas and booked us a trip to New York to go see it. The Sunday we flew in we ate lunch at a restaurant in Times Square and I was so excited to be there, I couldn’t even sit down to eat my food. I begged to be excused to go explore around Shubert Alley. This was back when Matilda was still on Broadway (a top fav show of all time) & some crazy force of nature came over me and lead me to open the stage door and go inside!!??? I saw the actual Broadway stage and cried. Then one of the cast members was walking out of the door and asked if they could help me with anything... I wanted to say “Yes um can you cast me in this show!” except I didn’t say that, I panicked and asked for a selfie instead and told him how I was sad he left Newsies to be in Matilda. (Can you guess the cast member I ran into? ? I’ll post the selfie of us if you guess right. Hint hint he was recently seen in Carousel on Bway) He said he was sorry and told me to get tickets to see the matinee of Matilda and I did. I bought standing room with my mom 30 min before the show started! Moral of the story...don’t go inside the stage door that’s not allowed ???♀️ but always spontaneously buy tickets to a #Broadway show. You won’t regret it !!!??
