✨10 things my japanese ancestors taught me: you ask me how I got to where I am? I watched my Japanese family of artists + teachers; here’s what I learned: 1- gaman: practice resilience + tolerance with grace. be tolerant of pain, + grace always wins. 2- wabi sabi: everything is perfectly imperfect and perfection is fleeting - it doesn’t exist, learn to love everyone, flaws and all. 3- shikata ga nai: don’t care ??‍♀️ about what others think, stop caring so much. let go, live and let live. stop judging + focus on yourself, don’t care so much. 4- kaizen: we all continuously improve. hard work will get you to your dreams. 5-kintsugi: we all come from broken places & when we mend + do self work, we come out golden. 6- shin rin yoku: the practice of forest bathing, being in nature always takes me back to my place. 7- kansha: the Japanese practice of deep gratitude and humility. I am so humbled by the struggles + dark times. nothing has been easy, I count my hardest times as a struggling writer because they gave me contrast & kept me alive. 8- osettai: you can be of service & give to others. your offerings are what you can give the world. 9- komorebi: the light between the trees, in the forest, within darkness, light always exists, you just have to find that golden flicker. 10- ki yo tsukete: take care, take great care on your journey— sending one off with good measure & paying attention. ✨✨What’s your favorite one? these can all be found in my bestselling book, Kintsugi Wellness & PS! matcha ? @thematchashoppe cleanse launches this week ⚡️⚡️⚡️#wabisabi #matcha #matchacleanse
