Tips on Carving the Perfect Beard from Artistic Team member @keonthebarber:

1️⃣ (If hair is long enough) always start with a beard blowout. I prefer using water, a volumizing mousse, and blow dry accelerant.
2️⃣ Wet the beard, apply products combing each through. Then you will need a brush and blow dryer (I suggest a round brush). Set your temp to medium heat or low heat, medium speed at first and as to get the hair close to dry then turn it to high if you like. This is to ensure that you do not damage the hair. ? *tip: round brushing over or under can help you better control the shape, if you want the beard to round towards the neck then roll the hair over the brush, outward or more straight then under.

3️⃣ Once the hair is dry then it’s time to sculpt. Here is where it matters what clipper & blade you use. I always use a clipper with a flat blade as opposed to a taper blade. A flat blade is flat and straight so you can get closer to the skin for that super tight fade, while a taper blade angles in toward the clipper body to better help with tapering clipper over comb work. Here I am using the @Wahlpro magic clip cordless.
4️⃣ Holding your clipper firmly and using your arm to guide the clipper. When fading you use your wrist to get a taper motion, when carving and going for straighter edges and shapes use your arm more. Sculpt the shape to the desired look. Continuously comb through to check for inconsistencies and make multiple passes as seen here.

5️⃣ When finished you may use which beard products you prefer. I like to personally use either a beard balm/butter, beard oil, or both in combination. A drop or two goes a long way. And you are done. A beard does not have to be carved often once it’s done properly the beard can be formed and trained to grow out to any shape desired.
