Dear UglyFruitAndVeg Friends,
I have not been posting personal images on Facebook or for some time (actually deleted most of them) but I think it’s time to put a pause on using the platform altogether. I can no longer support a Facebook that continues to violate our common trust, fact-based true journalism, and our common interest.

Between the Cambridge Analytica scandal harvesting info of 90 million users (without consent) which was used for political manipulation to giving personal info and messages of its 2.2 billion users to over 150 companies (without consent) to repeatedly lying to the U.S. Congress to what’s the latest or other scandals I’ve missed? All while attempting covering it all up as long as possible, Facebook has committed numerous crimes against platform users for which it will eventually have to answer for.
This combined with the actions (and inactions) of Facebook to allow propaganda and hate (often disguised as “news”) to spread like wildfire across its platform while also working with (and taking massive amounts of money from) shady authoritarian regimes leads Facebook to currently serve as a cancer on our collective democracy-leaning society. This is all really a shame since Facebook has offered such a great innovation to connect with family, friends and those with common interests the world over. They could have kept their innovation at what it was great at but greed and money have corrupted it.
So, as of today, I am going to be putting a hold on my postings to Facebook. At least until executives, board members and the company as a whole is held responsible (well done U.K. on a small start there) and changes its ways.
