#AfroChat ? While mental health is a very real issue, we can’t help but recognize how Big Pharma is exploiting it for monetary gain. These drug dealers, I mean doctors and psychiatrists don’t have a clue how to unpack the inherited and experienced emotional trauma that comes just from being Black in America. And it’s not to say all doctors and psychiatrists are bad, but we have to recognize that these drugs are not helping us. Our collective approach to mental health has left us unable to process and deal with basic human emotions. I’d prefer not to be emotionally crippled, and to do for self so I can create an environment for us that isn’t so grossly sick. As always, what are your thoughts? ?
