“We followed this lioness and her pride, the Bushbuck pride, for several days. We hoped to see the pride with their nine cubs. On several occasions, we found the three lionesses but they kept their cubs hidden. They were in desperate need of a meal and we watched them attempt to hunt impala but fail. On our final day, we found the lionesses and the cubs feeding on a zebra. In this image, the lioness placed a paw possessively on the zebra carcass and looked directly at me.” ?+ caption by Teresa McLean (@teresamclean.photography)
