"I actually wanted to shoot this spot four days earlier when I was here but because of the moon rising, I only had time to shoot one spot. So, I decided to drive three hours from San Diego again just to get this shot. As soon as I sat under the arch and stared up at the sky, I knew exactly the perspective I wanted. I was there well before sunset so explored the area and got set up right before blue hour ended. I shot about 30 shots from end of blue hour, all the way to pitch dark. Ended up doing a stacked blend. 18 shots for sky and two single, manually focus stacked images for foreground. I used to find myself going to a location just to shoot the exact same composition as I'd see from so many other photographers. Now I always make it a point to get the classic shot, but also get at least two unique perspectives that I've never seen. Just be creative, get low, use a wide angle lens and shoot up etc. Anything to get something different. Doesn't always work, but when it does, you know right away it'll be good." - @jsn_pdog
