As we enter the new year our job is to think big, not small. The extraordinary power of the corporate establishment is not just over our economy and political life, it is over our imagination – our ability to envision a different kind of world.

If it is "normal," at a time of massive wealth and income inequality, for Trump to provide $1.5 trillion in tax breaks to the top one percent, why is it "unrealistic" to provide health care for all – which every other major country does?

If it is just "bi-partisan politics" to spend some $700 billion a year on the military, more than the next ten nations combined, why is it a "radical" idea to lower student debt and make public colleges and universities tuition free?

If it is "business as usual" to give billions in incentives and tax breaks to the fossil fuel companies that are destroying our planet, why is "impractical" to boldly transform our energy system into energy efficiency and sustainable energy?

We are the wealthiest nation in the history of the world. If we stand together and think big, and not let demagogues divide us up, there is nothing we cannot accomplish.
