Pic of last year in Dec..This time last year I was back home in Japan celebrating the New Year (お正月). This year I won’t be able to go back and have all the special New Year food (Osechi) that my mother makes including my favorite Ozoni (a special soup we have during the New Year). The taste and recipe really differs depending on which prefecture your from. This is when I regret not learning the recipe from her! I guess it’s not too late tho.. going to ask her recipe and try to make it for hubby here in Singapore. Although the ingredients will probably cost me double?

昨年の今頃は日本に一時帰国できたので、母の作るおせちやお雑煮を食べ、新年を迎えた！という気分でしたが、今年は帰れないので、真夏のお正月をシンガポールで過ごすことに…母の作るお雑煮が本当に恋しい。関東出身ですが、我が家は少し九州よりの具沢山なお雑煮。今からでも作り方を教わり、シンガポール人の主人に作ってあげたい。材料費がバカにならなそうですが…柚子がこの前、1個10ドルくらい。日本円で、800円！くっ〜!
