Here are two photos of mine in @voguegermany this month taken at different times. The article is focuses on optimism and good feelings. the first photo was taken from the stage in Bangalore, India in 2001. The remarkable things in this photo are of course the crowd and the thousands of happy faces, with one gentleman in a turban on his mates shoulders, however there is more. If you look carefully you’ll see it’s mostly men in the crowd, and there are no mobile phones, something you never see now no matter what concert you go to. On the other page is my mother, taken in hospital last summer after her stroke. She’s 90 and the living embodiment of optimism, even though she is wheelchair bound with limited mobility / only one arm working, she soldiers on, not wanting to leave her home and doesn’t want anyone living with her. She wants to keep going, defiantly independent and…truly optimistic about getting well and living her life.
