Françoise GILOT may be known as one of the greatest muses to Pablo Picasso although she rather be identified as an artist herself whose paintings are not influenced by anyone. To this day, Gilot paints everyday and resides in New York. One of the reasons that Picasso was attracted to Gilot was because she was his intellectual equal. She also became the only woman to have ever left him. “Femme au Fauteuil N. 1 (d’Après le Rouge),” GILOT by Picasso in 1949.
