For so many years, my fertility never even crossed my mind. I had taken birth control since the age of 16 and figured that when I was ready for a baby, I would come off it and it would just happen. Simple! It never occurred to me that things wouldn’t go the way I had planned, let alone that I would suffer a miscarriage. After we lost our first baby, I felt grief-stricken, uneducated and underprepared. I began a quest to learn everything I could about my health. I also became passionate about encouraging a dialogue around fertility, miscarriage, and the struggles that many couples face when creating new life.
