Nikon Ambassador @dellyphotoninja captured the action and emotion at the 14th FINA World Swimming Championships!
"I come into Day 1, Session 1 placed in a stressful unknown.

What's the Stadium like? How is the lighting, brightness and temperature? Where has the governing body put our photo positions? How many other photographers must I elbow and jostle for position? Will I get a clean shot of each Australian Athlete, will a TV camera or Technical Official get in my way? Which heats and lane numbers are the Australian athletes racing in? Why am I so hungry, grumpy, and tired already?

No matter how many years I have been doing this, these questions will answer themselves as the minutes and days pass.

The anxiety fades and it's at that point when my eyes and photo-logic take over. This is a World Championship. The athlete's performances intensify, as does the mental game. So does the emotion, whether that be celebration or despair. Thus I must be like the athlete, lifting my game to match theirs. Only then will my Ikigai be nourished." - Delly Carr, Nikon Ambassador.
