During a series of engagements in Wiltshire today, The Duchess of Cornwall opened @WiltsAirAmbu’s new airbase and met staff and emergency crew. ?
The charity’s aspiration is to become a world-class centre for training and delivery of critical care in order to continue to deliver the highest standards to patients. In May 2018, the charity moved into a new purpose-built airbase which brings together the operational, fundraising and administrative teams on to one site.
During the visit, HRH presented Colin Smith, 78, from Chippenham, with an award from the Association of Air Ambulances. Colin is the charity’s longest-serving volunteer at 19 years’ service and has travelled over 40,000 miles across Wiltshire to help increase the number of charity tins from 50 to 1,000.
