There’s a new comet in town !! This great movie by @jamiecooperphotography shows comet 42P Wirtanen moving across the sky background (on a short loop). By the way, this object is going to come pretty close to the Earth - only 30 times as far away as the Moon. Well, on a cosmic scale that’s close. But no cause for alarm - it does this about every 5 years without causing problems ! It’s a short period comet. Wanna see it for real ?
