So I ran actress this story today looking for content for the morning show. And I came across THIS. Apparently there’s a new Broadway play called #SlavePlay which shows lots of sexual incidents between the slaves and Massa. Ughhhhhh haven’t we had enough of this? And twerking for massa? What’s the damn point of it all? Anyone else tired of seeing us in this capacity? I’m sure there’s some kind of message in this but I’m tired of it being set against the slavery back drop. Like when will we get to the point where there’s movie after movie and play after play about us being fabulous? And free? And amazing? Can we get more Coming to America’s and Boomerangs? And less “twerking for master”. By the way- slaves weren’t in “relationships” with slave masters- they were raped and molested- the boys and the girls as a form of control and deviancy at the hands of the wicked masters. To romanticize this in any way is BULLSHIT. Ok I’m done. Have at it in the comments.
