LGBTQ young people are 120% more likely to experience homelessness than non-LGBTQ youth.

Half of all teens get a negative reaction from their parents when they come out and more than 1/4 are thrown out of their homes after coming out to their families.

About 1/3 of the nation’s 1.4 million transgender people report experiencing homelessness at some point in their lives

I was commissioned by Sara to design a look for her performance this year at the Annual True Colors Fund Benefit Concert - an organization founded by artist Cyndi Lauper to help eradicate LGBTQ Youth Homelessness.

Sara has been one of the most vocal celebrities to use their platform to amplify the work & voices of the LGBTQ community, especially LGBTQ POC, like myself. And for that alone, she is my icon.
We chose to go with a military inspired, tailored flight suit, very clean made in a dressy pinstripe satin in my favorite color, BLACK lol

As QPOC, we are at literal war for our lives in a climate and administration that seems to be doing everything they can to take us out. On the back is a detachable panel in a satin floral digital print that reads ‘TRANS IS BEAUTIFUL’’. A nod to our trans family that as queer allies, we see you, we love you, we support you & we are all in this fight together. No one is free until we all are.✊?
