Our #PeopleofZipp feature introduces you to some of the people behind Zipp wheels and products, our employees. Today we feature Zipp training specialist June Thang. At work, you can find June walking throughout Zipp’s 80,000 square-foot plus Indianapolis facility helping our human resources department train employees and providing interpretation services as needed. But June also is a learner himself. Soon after joining Zipp, he saw co-workers heading out on the lunch ride, and he wanted to be part of that. June, new to cycling, asked Zipp engineers about cycling technology. He learned how to build a bike, how to shift and ride comfortably in stiff crosswinds on a high-end road bike. He now rides two or three days a week. His introduction to the bike came as a child in his native Burma. “We didn’t have a car or motorcycle. We used the bicycle,” he said. While in high school in Indianapolis, June played and coached volleyball. Now he’s come full circle back to the bike. “I take my bike home each night, even days I don’t ride,” June said. “I’m proud to have Zipp wheels.” #PeopleofZipp #MadeinIndianapolis #ZippSpeed
