They are calling us idiots??There are two sad photos of declawed kitties on Instagram that someone sent me that were posted this week.??
These comments are from the women who posted the photos of their declawed cats. They are either willfully ignorant or were deceived by their unethical declawing vets to believe this barbaric amputation procedure is ok.
I tried to respectfully educate them about the facts but one blocked me and told me that I was entitled to my own opinion and she never asked for it in the first place. (She used the hashtag #declawed for the world to see)
She said that millions of cats are declawed each year and the procedure has been around for decades. ???
Hmmm. So that makes it right?? The other woman told me she declawed her kitty because she was hurting her dogs with her claws. She also lied and said that the AVMA says that declawing is no more inhumane than getting a cat neutered. ?Hmmmm. Not true at all.
Her unethical and inhumane declawing vet obviously didn't educate her about the easy, commonsense humane options like nail trims, Soft Paws, keeping the dogs away from the cat since the cat was probably just protecting itself, or possibly re-homing it.
Mutilating and harming a cat is always wrong.
People are entitled to their own opinions but not their own facts.
It's a FACT that declawing is a mutilating amputation procedure that always harms the health and well-being of a cat.
