For Abigail Stern, skiing became second nature when she attended university in Boulder, Colorado and went on plenty of impromptu trips to Aspen and Beaver Creek on weekends or after class. But, Stern noticed that the dearth of affordable yet stylish ski gear kept her from feeling completely comfortable on the slopes. She realized there need to be more options and took matters into her own hands–which is why, upon graduating, she enrolled at Parsons School of Design followed by stints at @hoodbyair, @NIKELAB, and @ASICS America, and now, her long journey culminates in the launch of cutting-edge ski intimates label @matek.clothing.
