‘Mistral’ - Photographing the legendary wind of Provence: a Q&A with #RachelCobb @rachelcobbphoto by @chiaranonino on her latest book published by @damiani_books ? Rachel Cobb fell in love with photography right after university, while writing and illustrating articles for a small newspaper, but she soon transitioned into becoming a full-time image maker, ending up covering current affairs and social issues for the past 25 years. Indeed, for the past 20 years, she has pursued a deeply personal, seemingly impossible project: photographing the wind - not just every wind, mind you, but the legendary mistral, in Provence. In her book Cobb manages to depict the unphotographable, capturing the effects of the wind, that moment “where the invisible becomes visible through what it touches.”.
