I was honored to be in this year's Battle At The Berrics. A few years ago when I got hurt, I basically lost my entire skate career from permanent nerve damage which causes me to have “Drop Foot”. This doesn’t allow me to lift my foot in the upward motion (very important for skating). Every single doctor told me that I wouldn’t be able to skate again and to basically start thinking about what else I wanted to for a career. As I’ve transitioned my life into running @glassyeyewear with my brother, My gf found a brace that automatically lifts my foot up and it has helped me soooo much with being able to skate again. So to be in Battle At The Berrics again, meant more to me than you could even imagine, this wasn’t something that I was trying to prove to everyone that I could still skate, this was me trying to prove to myself that I could get back to doing the thing I loved even if I only have 1 working foot. Just wanted to thank everyone for being awesome n showing support during all this! Congrats to @tomasta for advancing, you’re the man ??. —@mikemo
