This is Chewy, the sweetest, most curious alpaca you will ever meet who is now living a healthy, happy life with the rest of the alpaca gang at Hopefield Animal Sanctuary. I created this range of jumpers to raise essential funds for all the rescue animals at Hopefield, including Chewy, and his friends Regina and Ernie. In July of this year, Regina was found wandering the streets by the police. When she first arrived at the sanctuary she was severely neglected and it was obvious she was heavily pregnant. After an examination there were concerns that the baby had sadly passed away. Not knowing what she had experienced in the early stages of her pregnancy on the streets, everyone feared the worst. A week later the scan showed that there was in fact a living, lazy foal inside who just wasn’t ready to meet the world yet! A few weeks later on September the 11th 2018, Regina gave birth to a beautiful little baby boy. The 11th of September is the anniversary of one of the Hopefield founders Ernie Clarkes passing and so we decided to name him Ernie.
