I know I’ve told y’awl this story many times, but I only say it because it absolutely changed my life ((:0))…Growing up in Chicago, I wanted to be a gangster until I was 11, because they were the only role models I had…After my daddy moved my brother Lloyd & I to Seattle, we still held onto those dreams. So, one night, us kids broke into the armory to eat up all of the lemon meringue pies & ice cream that they had in the freezer. \(^o^)/ After a few minutes, I stepped away & broke into one of the supervisors’ rooms which had a little upright piano in the back. I closed the door, but then something said to me, “Idiot, go back in that room!” So, I walked back over to the piano, played a few keys, & every cell in my body said “This is what you’re gonna do for the rest of your life.” And it saved my life!!…When I had the opportunity to share this passion that I have for music, through co-creating a piano learning software about 6 years ago, it absolutely made my soul smile because discovering the piano was the starting point for everything I’ve done to this day. I truly hope U enjoy @playgroundsessions as much as I do, & it makes my soul smile to hear all-a-y’awls stories about how it has helped you to actually learn piano!! Keep ‘em comin!
