My trip to the Grand Egyptian Museum felt really empowering because I had the opportunity to see these talented women doing the extremely important work of preserving Ancient Egyptian history. All with PhDs, they are working to restore never-before-seen artifacts recovered from some of the most famous and notable tombs. The museum opens to the public in 2020 - but getting a glimpse of these items up close, some over 4,000 years old, was absolutely a highlight of my trip.
