It is my gorgeous Naleigh’s 10th birthday today and my 40th tomorrow. 10 years ago today my daughter was being born in South Korea while I got ready for the Big Bang 30th birthday party my mom threw me. It’s shocking to think that as I put my makeup on, curled my hair and put on my pretty party dress my world was shifting, my life forever altering as my daughter came into the world. I’d like to believe that my soul shifted her eyes to the east the moment my girl took her first breath, that my heart beat one extra beat the instant she cried into life. That in the seconds, minutes, hours that followed the invisible thread that bound her to me and me to her formed thick and strong. This exquisite daughter of mine has awakened the depths of my soul, has given my life true meaning. Real purpose. A love so deep and profound and abiding. She is my greatest joy. The Heavens most abundant blessing. Happy Birthday my sweet, smart, loving, feisty Sagittarius. Thank you for changing my life. For making it bigger and better than I could ever have imagined.
