On the third day of our Gratefulness Series, we're taking the time to be thankful for Eric Kau, our newest board member.

According to Volunteer President of the Board, Deann Wright, “Eric has been a terrific addition to the SRF board. His relentless curiosity inspires all of us to think critically about scientific questions and about how to allocate our resources. He has become a critical contributor to our research process. Plus, he’s a really fun guy with a great sense of humor.” Eric is the Director of the USC Institute of Urology-Arcadia, and Clinical Assistant Professor of Urology at USC Keck School of Medicine in the Los Angeles area. As a practicing doctor and renowned urologist, he is a strong advocate for the collaborative research initiatives the SRF creates. As the family member of a scleroderma patient, Eric feels it is his responsibility to learn as much about the disease as possible, and help fund and promote the most promising research in the field; as such, he attends every conference and workshop on scleroderma that he can, and is an avid reader and passionate scleroderma advocate. We are so grateful to have Eric on our team–his voice is invaluable in the journey towards a cure!
