American poet and essayist Henry David Thoreau once wrote, “I never found the company that was so companionable as solitude.” In the chilly air of a thawing winter in Montana, one such lone wolf glides across a still lake — only breaking the silence of the winter wonderland with the tail of his canoe as it quietly rips the glassy, iridescent surface of the water into a trailing, feathered tear.
