#10featuredteachers features My college buddy Bret Goldstein- Bret has a GoFundMe going to reimburse his community for an awesome field trip: I teach 6th grade in Prince George's County Maryland, just outside our nation's capital. Our students are predominantly Latino immigrants from Mexico and El Salvador, and every year we try to take as many as possible of them for a week-long camp on the Chesapeake Bay. We used to get Title 1 funding for the trip, but one has to much poorer these days to qualify for such things. So we've tried to crowdsource the funding. I did a bike trip this summer as a publicity thing - funny, I can remember making it all the way up Hudson Street for the first time, back in the day. I remember a walk I took with you down Hudson Street too, where we discussed teaching. Funny how all these things come together.
