no. first of all, I am not a “celeb” I am a human being.
I love the country I am from and have numerous family members who have risked their lives fighting for privileges we all take for granted.
To say that you shouldn’t speak on issues that directly impact the public, solely because you have a platform that is more publicized ... is ignorant to say the least.
Yes. I am an actress. I make films for a living. I also write music. I also am double jointed. I ALSO like to make crafts in my spare time and I also make an incredible apple pie... none of these things keep me from having an individual opinion. I inform myself to the highest level of my capability before speaking publicly on any political matter because of comments like this.
As a “celeb”, I choose to use the platform I am fortunate enough to have been granted, to discuss subjects that are important to me.
I love our country because we are allowed to speak our minds and express our opinions. This is one particular opinion I noticed and one that has been brought up on numerous posts of mine.
Me being an actress and somewhat in the public eye, in no way means I am not allowed to give my opinion on the state of our nation. It is a constitutional right to speak freely and openly.
To state that “celebs” need to stay “hushed” is completely unfair and unwarranted.
So in closing, if you’re coming to my page solely on the basis of seeing pics of my cleavage and behind the scenes shots, you can kindly unfollow me. I honestly don’t mind. You are entitled to your opinion just as I am entitled to mine.
But, to have the opinion that because I am an actress, I am not socially, politically or intellectually aware is a biased, unfair and unwarranted opinion.
Anyone is entitled to their stance on any given subject: just because I make films for a living, does not strip me of that same right.
