Yesterday I spoke to the @guardian about why I’m backing @extinctionrebellion. This week I’ve been involved in various direct actions in the build up to a day of mass civil disobedience this Saturday in London. Just this month the UN announced we have 12 years to limit climate catastrophe, yet our government are simply ignoring the problem. Our future is under threat because of things we haven’t even had a hand in. We should be angry. We should make our voices heard. As George Monbiot wrote earlier this week 'Do not allow those who have caused this crisis to define the limits of political action. Do not allow those whose magical thinking got us into this mess to tell us what can and cannot be done.’ History tells us that direct action works. That’s why I’ll be joining Extinction Rebellion in London this Saturday. It’s no exaggeration to say that to care about climate change is to care about the future of humanity.
