Stan Lee, 2008. When I was asked to photograph #StanLee at his office ten years ago I brought with me a backdrop, a tux, a live tarantula and a martini glass, just in case he’d let me do more than a portrait of him at his desk. He saw my props and immediately became playful. He put the tux on and had no problem with the tarantula crawling out of the glass onto his lap every few minutes. He chuckled all throughout the shoot. He made a big impression on me that day. This great man was still in it for the fun of it, to make people smile, to inspire. And I left inspired and wanting to be as good a person as I could. As good as Stan.
