We’re joining @国立アメリカ歴史博物館 in commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armistice that marked the end of #WorldWarI. Before it was a research facility to save endangered species, the site of the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute was a cavalry remount depot prior to and during World War I. The graves of several horses who served are still there on what is now called Race Track Hill. #StoriesofService
