These are wild horns. For those that are unaware, wild horn fetches a much higher price on the black market than horns that have been farmed or dehorned. A wild horn means the poachers hack down into the rhino's face, way beyond the growth plate, ensuring all the horn is taken (you can see it with these two horns). It would mean an excruciating death for the poor animal. When we see horns like this, all we can do is pray the animal was dead rather than suffering through evil men with machetes and axes hacking away at the big grey's face. The utter devastation and agony that was wrought on this rhino right up to his last dying breath is something you truly don't to ever want to see. It changes you forever.

We absolutely cannot do what we do without help. And boy do we need it now more than ever. We are heading into the peak season for poaching - because of the December and Christmas holidays.
